General Information:

State Route 83 is a major connector route in Perth's northern suburbs, especially for the suburbs at its eastern end. It provides a direct connection to several main roads leading to Perth's CBD and also the Mitchell Fwy (SR2), the main north-south route in Perth.

The route contains a mix of 2 lane and 4 lane divided roadway, and passes through farming, residential, industrial, commercial and bushland areas.

Multiplexes along the route include:

• State Route 60 (Wanneroo Road), for 400 m, from the junction of Gnangara Rd to Whitfords Av, in the Madeley / Kingsley area.

History:

• 2001: Channelisation intersection improvements at Eddystone Avenue and Whitfords Avenue at Craigie. Median and verge enhancement works on Whitfords Avenue from the Mitchell Freeway to Marmion Avenue. Construction of a new roundabout at the Corner of Whitfords Avenue and Northshore Drive. 2
• June 2007: Installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Gnangara Road and Alexander Drive near Landsdale. 3
