General Information:

Manning Road is mostly a dual carriageway route in Perth's inner south, connecting Albany Highway (SR30) with the Kwinana Freeway (SR2).

Manning Road is named after the Manning family, who were major landholders and businessmen in the Swan River Colony. 1

History:

• 2001: Channelisation of Manning Road between Leach Highway and Hamilton St at Cannington. 2
• 2007: Upgrade to the junction of Leach Hwy (SR7) and Manning Rd (SR26) at Bentley. The works included the installation of two traffic signal mast arm posts along both approaches of Leach Highway; replacement of the existing traffic signal aspects with light emitting diodes (LED) lanterns on all signal poles; modifying both left slip turns from Leach Highway to Manning Road from a 12m turn radius to a 15m turn radius; extending both right turn lanes on Leach Highway and the left turn/deceleration lane on the Leach Highway north approach; and improving the crossing environment for pedestrians, including Walk/Don’t Walk signals, zebra crossings on both left slip lanes, and upgrading the ramp profiles and alignments. 3
