General Information:
Metropolitan Route 4 is an arterial route on the
Mornington Peninsula, linking Frankston with Cranbourne. It's a mix of
single and dual carriageway road, and cross a couple of major routes in
the area such as Moorooduc Hwy (MR11) and Western Port Hwy (M780).
Multiplexes along the route include:
- Tourist Drive 12, for 5 km, from Nepean Hwy (MR3) and McClelland
Dr in Langwarrin
- Metropolitan Route 67, for 400m, between Nepean Hwy (MR3) and
Baxter Street in Frankston
History:
- March 1980: Cranbourne Road duplication in Frankston. 3
- 2008: Design and
construction of
the 1.4 km duplication of the Cranbourne-Frankston Road between Centre
Road
and Western Port Highway (M780) at Frankston. Scope of works included
retaining
walls, roundabouts, service relocation, street furniture and traffic
signalisation with landscaping. 4
