General Information:

Drakeford Drive acts as a connector to the Tuggeranong Parkway and acts as a major route for the ACT's southwestern suburbs in the Tuggeranong Valley.

The route is named after Arthur Samuel Drakeford (1879-1957), who was an MLA in Essendon, Victoria, from 1927-1929; MHR for Maribyrnong, Victoria, from 1934-1955; Minister for Air and Civil Aviation, from 1941-1949.

23 April 1974: Gazettal of the road name. ¹
1995: Duplication of Drakeford Drive, south of Isabella Drive intersection. ²
January 2001: Commissioning of the fixed red light and speed camera at the junction of Drakeford Drive and Marconi Crescent. ³
2002: duplication of Drakeford Drive from Taverner Street to Erindale Drive. ⁴
September 2005: Announcement of the installation of traffic signals at Athllon Drive and Drakeford Drive intersections in Kambah. ⁵
